A CYCLIST who biked it from North West Scotland to London for charity has raised almost £2,000.
Julian Henty, who stopped off during the trip to recharge his batteries at his mother's house in Hitchin, will split the money between the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth GC and Cancer Research.
Speaking on Monday Mr Henty said: "It was pretty hard last week. I had a head wind pretty much every day of the last week.
"I had no problems with the bike but I had one day cycling up and down hills with 12 pre cent rises in them and it was hard work up there."
On one really gruelling day Mr Henty cycled for over 10 hours trying to get to Leicester and despite strong headwinds managed to cover 118 miles.
"When I finished in London I was taken for a nice meal with some friends and I'm happy to have finished now."
Altogether Mr Henty raised between £800 and £1,000 and the company he works for, Charthouse Solutions in Newbury, has said it would double the final total.
