A MAN died on the A1(M) after being hit by a number of vehicles in the early hours of Saturday.
The man, believed to be from Stotfold, was walking along the motorway between the Coreys Mill, Stevenage, and Letchworth Gate junctions when he was hit by vehicles travelling towards him. It is thought that he was returning home after a night out.
Two ambulance crews were called to the scene with the news that a man was lying in the road.
They tried to resuscitate the man but he was pronounced dead and was then conveyed to Lister Hospital.
