CENTENARY celebrations of a Conservative club culminated in a three-course lunch and a plaque unveiling. Almost 50 members of Letchworth GC Conservative Club, on Birds Hill, joined in the revelry last week and tucked into a hearty lunch to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the club. They listened to speeches from Jonathan Evans - a Member of European Parliament and national chairman of the Association of Conservative Clubs - and MP for Hertfordshire North East, Oliver Heald. Mr Heald also unveiled a plaque commemorating the landmark anniversary. Chairman of the club Steve Shaddick said: "It was a splendid day.
