THE sights, smells and sounds of Olde England returned to a high street at the weekend as things all went medieval.
The Baldock Medieval Street Fair on Saturday ended the two-week Baldock Festival in style as period craftsman, knights, jesters and folk dancers entertained the crowds.
One of the organisers of the festival, Baldock Mail editor Maureen Maddren, said: "We were extremely pleased the weather held despite an awful forecast. The performers were terrific - everyone said the juggler was fantastic. The stallholders all dressed up and we had calligraphy, weaving and potion sellers and medieval burgers and a hog roast. The medieval theme is a great success.
