Army cadets from across Hertfordshire paid a commemorative visit to the Somme in France.
The cadets began their journey at St Martin’s Plain Camp in Folkestone, where they received booklets and memorabilia during educational briefings.
The cadets then took a ferry to Calais, arriving in the Somme after a two-hour journey.
Throughout the weekend, cadets visited landmarks such as the Delville Wood South African National Memorial, the Devonshire Cemetery, Lochnagar mine and the Fricourt German war cemetery.
A tour guide joined the group to pass on his knowledge and answer questions from the cadets.
Their final stop was The Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, where all the cadets formed up for a drumhead to salute those who gave their lives during the war.
The youngest cadet on parade, Cadet Colletta was selected to lay the final wreath on the memorial.
The Army Cadet Force is a national voluntary youth organisation for young people aged 12-18.
