Most of us would be happy to make it to 100.
But Mary Bullard, who lives in Baldock, reached that target five years ago and is still going strong.
The great-grandmother of seven reached her 105th birthday on Monday and celebrated on Sunday with a visit from an Elvis impersonator at Providence Court care home. Her only son Maurice, 67, said: “It’s great to see her doing so well after all this time.”
Mary lived in Shillington for many years and used to cycle every day to work as a telephone exchange operator in Hitchin, where she met her husband Arthur.
Son Maurice said: “I think her secret is that she did a lot of cycling and she has had a relatively stress free life.”
