The main road linking Potton to Sandy is closed this morning after a serious crash involving a car and a lorry.

The crash happened at about 5.20am, and has been described by Bedfordshire Police as a “serious collision”.

The force tweeted shortly before 7am that Sandy Road in Potton is expected to be closed until at least 10am.

A police spokeswoman said there “could be serious injuries”, and advised drivers to avoid the area.

The Comet is awaiting further details from the emergency services.
