A pedestrian escaped uninjured after a collision sent him smashing into a car windscreen.

The emergency services raced to the scene of the crash which happened on Lonsdale Road, Stevenage, shortly before 9am this morning (Thursday).

The woman driver, aged 36, was slightly injured, while the 23-year-old man was unhurt.

East of England Ambulance Service spokesman, Gary Sanderson, said: “We believe a man got off a bus and walked out in front of it, then collided with a car. The woman driving the car received slight injuries to her neck. The man who struck the windscreen and fell to the road was not injured.”
