Cyclist in hospital after being injured in Hitchin crash

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being injured in a crash involving a car in Hitchin.

Emergency crews were called to the crash at the mini-roundabout at the corner of Nightingale Road and Grove Road at 11.18am, which involved a silver Ford Mondeo.

An eyewitness told the Comet that an older man had been lying in the road next to a bicycle, and not moving. A police spokeswoman described his injuries as minor.

A rapid response vehicle and ambulance attended the scene, and the man was taken to hospital for further treatment.
