A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after a collision involving a car on the main road between Hitchin and Letchworth.

The A505 Cambridge Road remains closed while emergency services deal with the incident, which happened at about 10.43am.

Police said a blue Vauxhall Corsa was involved and that a woman aged in her 40s had been taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital.

The ambulance service said an ambulance crew and rapid responce vehicle were despatched to the scene and that paramedics had treated the woman for head and leg injuries.
