SIR - This sunday is Remembrance Sunday and I would like to ask the community to support the Poppy Appeal of the Royal British Legion. I would also like to thank all the volunteers who give their time - I know the organisation is always seeking new volunteers and anyone over 16 who would like to help can call 0800 085 5924.
The Royal British Legion's mission is to help those members of the serving and ex-service community who need it and is the leading charity safeguarding the welfare, interests and memory of those who have served their country. The Poppy Appeal provides the main source of funds to maintain the Legion's many welfare and benevolent schemes in which over 300,000 people have been helped.
Can I thank those who have already generously contributed to the appeal and encourage everyone to wear a poppy this weekend
