SIR - Your readers' reaction to snitching about neighbours who flout the hosepipe ban is alarming. What are laws for if they are flouted without consequences? Should only law-abiding citizens be ruled by them? It is my belief, that if everyone had a water meter there would be no need for a hosepipe ban. Anglian Water, whose area has less rainfall than that of Three Valleys, but who has more water meters per household, has no hosepipe ban. I have a water meter and I wish I could switch to Anglian Water.
