RESEARCH has revealed that volunteers feel happier, healthier and less stressed.
So with Volunteers' Week (June 1-7) just around the corner, The Comet is backing the work that the Volunteer Centre in Stevenage and North Herts is doing to encourage more people to give up a few hours of their time each week to help an organisation.
Volunteers are a valuable part of the community who often get taken forgranted or forgotten about but Volunteers' Week will be celebrating them and that can only be a good thing.
Instead of sitting at home twiddling your thumbs why not get out into the community and meet like-minded people?
Regardless of age or gender, anyone can get involved and give something back to the community by putting their skills or an extra pair of hands to good use.
So what are you waiting for?
