SIR - I would like to agree with a letter in today's Comet (May 8) regarding people without young children parking in parent and toddler spaces. I had a recent experience at Tesco's in Stevenage where a man actually waited for a parent and toddler space to become available and when confronted he just walked off. When I spoke to Tesco's customer services they informed me that Tesco's did not operate the car park and gave me the phone number of the company that did. When I phoned them they said that there was nothing they could do as fines are not applicable to parent and toddler spaces but just to disabled spaces. To most parents it is the size of the spaces not the location that is important as we need to open the car doors further to get children in and out of the car. Come on MPs let's do something about this.
