Referring to your Save the Lister campaign, your newspaper is doing its bit, but what about your readers.

When we had the Save the Post Office campaign, we had, I believe less than 100 signatures on your petition. You have approximately 150,000 readers, did the other 149,900 never use the main post office in Letchworth? Well if that is so, the main post office is not much of a loss then is it?

So far, as of February 22, you had just over 12,000 Save the Lister forms and emails. Well done. Please will the other 130,000 of your readers sign up now or it will come as no surprise that next time you call 999, you could be dead before you reach the nearest A&E. Too late! Tough! Whose fault is it? Not mine. I have signed up. What is your excuse?

Did you back the post office? No! No surprise then if the Lister vanishes without a trace. Let everyone else object and you do nothing! Sign the form, the cost of a stamp could be the cost of your life.
