SIR - Congratulations to Hitchin on becoming a Fairtrade Town, but we are very disappointed to see, in your report, no mention of the role which local churches have played in this achievement. For many years churches in the town have served Fairtrade tea and coffee and run Fairtrade stalls. Therefore, the present result must be largely due to the dedication and persistence of the church organisers and fellow members, who requested that stores sold Fairtrade goods. Yes, let us display our certificate with pride, but let us also give credit where it is due.
