North Hertfordshire College admission assistant Tejal Patel was given an award at the Youth Achievement Awards at the House of Commons last week.
The awards were about celebrating future leaders, honouring young people who have made an impact on people’s lives around them in some way. Tejal was one of only ten people in the country to receive this award and the only recipient from Hertfordshire.
Tejal was nominated for the award by the Founder and Chair of a free Saturday school in Harrow that she has volunteered at since she was 16. The school offers a multi faith and values education programme to children aged 5 – 15. Tejal manages recruitment and admissions for the school as well as organising charity events.
