This letter gives my concern at the speed at which people drive down Burford Way and Swinburne Avenue in Hitchin. I have lived here a few years now and am shocked that no one has been knocked down and killed yet, with the amount of young children that live in this area.
This is not a dig at the council or police but near enough everyday there is a mobile speed camera unit on Bedford Road, when the people really speeding are coming down Burford Way at 50mph plus! It is about time something is done about this, the addition of speed humps or other restrictions, or do we have to wait until one of my or somebody else's child is killed?
I hope other residents of Burford Way and Swinburne Avenue agree with me.
