Your article this week on the possible building of 8,000 homes to the west of Hitchin is truly shocking. It is quite literally beyond the pale as the area concerned is not only Green Belt, but also encompasses Oughtonhead Nature Reserve.
The older, fatter and nastier John Prescott gets, the more he reminds me of an old style Eastern Block leader - just picture him on the Kremlin balcony for a May Day parade! How many dachas does he have? His callous disregard for ordinary people is of Ceausescu proportions. It is to be devoutly wished that he meets a similar end to the notorious Rumanian dictator.
