SIR - Regarding your front page article regarding plastic banks back in The Comet in November, I am not in favour of it and personally cannot see the need for it, nor am I agreeable to contributing to the cost.
I would have thought this venture too big for the town council considering the short time in office.
I do not think anyone would want a container in their street considering today's climate. If people would, on finding the front of the plastic banks full, try going to the rear of the containers and they would find them half empty, at Morrison's they are emptied most promptly.
NHDC is and should be held responsible for the collection and disposal of the district's waste. If you are definitely going ahead with it, then perhaps you should consider ways of charging only those who want the service. If there are ready funds available by the town council, then I am sure that there are other avenues to explore with much more priority, funding for a few more Bobbies for example.
