I am a van driver and regular visitor to Letchworth Garden City. Over the past four months I have been watching with keen interest the construction of the new filter lane from the A1(M) Letchworth Gate. The traffic congestion here has been awful and something needed to be done, however having used the new lane a couple of times, I have discovered that the angle of sight required to view traffic coming at speed from the right is almost impossible to achieve without serious bone dislocation of the neck!
Maybe car drivers find this easier but in a van it is very hard to see without sticking one's head out of the window. My point is that I think the Highways Agency and the County Council have inadvertently created an accident black spot. I hope I am wrong but I fear the worst.
