Once again Rectory Lane is to be closed for two months, this time to allow a developer to make more money out of a site. Previously one house stood on a site, now seven are to be erected, but nowhere in the planning application was there a mention of closing Rectory Lane.
Herts Highways spent thousands of pounds on consultation, feasibility studies and even a lovely coloured brochure regarding the closure. Now a developer comes along and closes Rectory Lane without any consultations, to the inconvenience of hundreds of Stevenage ratepayers.
Long live democracy.
