SIR - Ellie Clark ('Waste of Police Time' (letters April 12) is critical of NHDC for asking the Police to investigate the display of banners in Hitchin. In fact, we have asked the police to investigate not only this but also a series of acts of criminal damage to property in Hitchin and Letchworth which will cost council tax payers and others many thousands of pounds to repair.
