EARLIER this year, in a moment of madness, I entered the ballot to take part in the Flora London Marathon next year.

It was with some relief that I learned I had failed to gain a place, as I struggle to run 3km without feeling faint.

But last week, out-of-the-blue, I received a phone call from CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA, offering me a charity place in the event.

I now have the daunting and mammoth task of trying to get fit in time to make it round the course.

Those who know me will know I'm a stranger to exercise, so this is a huge challenge and I would really appreciate all the fundraising support I can get.

To sponsor me, please visit my fundraising page at www.bmycharity.com/V2/loumac and donate what you can. Thank you.
