SIR - A H Matussa is entitled to his opinion (Comet, letters, May 15), and no doubt some residents of Todds Green may agree, but I do not.

In my own 25 years of driving between Hitchin and Stevenage, my chosen route is based upon three simple factors - relevance, anticipated traffic and freedom of choice. For me, Todds Green is the most efficient route for certain journeys. For other journeys, the A602 may be faster or more convenient. That is my freedom of choice and do not even think about questioning it, let alone telling me where I can and where I cannot drive. But, just in case I might have this wrong, for the last few weeks I have indeed kept my eyes open in order to fully experience the early morning A602 queue to the A1, junction eight, which now starts at the Blakemore bridge! So, A H Matussa, keep your bicycle, rat run, cameras and tolls to yourself and let me make my own driving decisions.
