SIR - I read with sympathy the letter from a lady in Knebworth who had maggots in her brown recycling bin. As I struggle to contain kitchen waste in an untidy wad of newspaper I think enviously of a friend in South Beds who has rolls of hygienic, biodegradable corn starch bags, supplied by her enlightened council, which keep everything clean, tidy and safe from any possible predators (or to mention the efficient plastic containers for indoor storage and outdoor collection.) Keep up NHDC!
