SIR - Currently there is much activity at the Letchworth Playing Fields Baldock Road opposite the Letchworth Football Club.
Several items of new activity equipment are being installed in two areas. But it appears that there are no plans to fence the area or more important to install dog grids. Several dogs are walked around the grounds and unfortunately not every walker takes the responsibility seriously. One area which has security fence around it while work is in progress has already had this fencing severely damaged and in some cases reduced to scrap metal.
Surely for health and safety reasons these two areas should when up and running be protected from any animal intrusion. And in this day and age of CCTV these child friendly areas should be covered to offer parents some peace of mind.
