Having cycled in Luxembourg, France and Germany and Switzerland, Letchworth is definitely the most dangerous. Its pot-holed roads are an absolute disgrace, whoever is responsible for their condition should have a good smack. Another hazard, particularly in Rushby Mead near the school, which after many years of neglect has been beautifully repaired, no, the hazard there is the parents dropping their children off for school. They must really hate their offspring, the way they fling the doors open without looking behind and sending their children to cross the road on their own.

On another matter I would rather see concreted front gardens with cars on them than cars on grass verges or parking along the roadside, having been nearly knocked off my bike by people parking in the street. I think parking in car parks should be free and street parking should cost the earth.
