SIR - The street collection organised by the North Hertfordshire branch of Cats Protection in Stevenage town centre on Saturday, August 9 raised £216.95. We are most grateful to all who contributed to this handsome sum, in spite of the difficult economical climate, and in spite of the absolutely foul weather we were all braving.
Most of the money raised will help pay for our current neutering campaign, the most effective and humane way of limiting the number of unwanted and thus unhappy felines. If you have an unneutered cat, please do not hesitate to ring 01438 228877. If you live in SG1 or SG2, until the end of October we will foot the entire veterinary bill; if you live in SG3-SG7 and are in receipt of any state benefit, we will contribute £20 towards the neutering of a male and £26 towards the spaying of a female cat (by sending an appropriate voucher to the vet performing the operation).
