North Hertfordshire College students celebrate success
North Hertfordshire College students attended Accelerate 13 three weeks ago which was sponsored by Gazelle College. The students were invited for a chance to quiz some of the worlds leading entrepreneurs. Health and Social care students had a task to produce a 60 second video that would showcase an enterprise idea which was posted on YouTube. Their app idea was for mental health which was called BE-App-IE.
The team resulted in being in the winning top three, when they pitched their idea the judges were impressed on how they pitched their enterprise idea and received feedback from the digital panel. They then had an opportunity to interview the founders of Wikipedia, Ella’s Kitchen & Principalis asset management and many more, during the interviews the students were finding out how each founder grew as an entrepreneur.
The App was well received by all the entrepreneurs who attended, the students have also gained the support of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to help with the creation and materials for this App.
Head of Curriculum for Social Care Nadia Hodges commented: “The students received really positive feedback and this was a unique opportunity to get some experience within a competitive business industry.”
