In reply to Name and address withheld, I would like to point out that whenever I have seen PCSOs patrolling around the town centre and a pavement cyclist or two come tootling past them they have done absolutely nothing about it. This is not a rare occurrence since there are so many of them. As for being highly unprofessional for PCSOs to shout at them to dismount, surely the opposite must be the case? Simply looking straight through a pavement lout and doing and saying nothing to them shows PCSOs up as lazy, unobservant and lacking in their duty of care to the council tax paying pedestrian.

Can Name and address withheld please tell us; what special tools or equipment are needed for a PCSO or a PC, to stand in the way of an oncoming cyclist and order them to dismount? What is the use of them being around frequently if speeding pavement idiots have cottoned on to the fact that PCSOs will do nothing about them? Perhaps the PCSOs themselves could write in and tell us why they consider the safety of pedestrians, especially the disabled and the elderly, and the enforcement of law and order on our pavements to be such a low priority?
