THE Forestry Commission is hosting a number of top gigs at Thetford Forest this year and we’ve got got a pair of tickets to win for three great nights of music.

Blondie have confirmed a very special tour of the nation’s woodlands and will be performing their hits at Thetford on June 15.

Blondie emerged from New York’s celebrated new wave scene producing innovative music with their rock/disco, reggae and hip-hop influenced songs. Fronted by pop icon Deborah Harry, their ground-breaking material brought them a stash of hit singles such as Denis, (I’m Always Touched by Your) Presence Dear, Picture This and Rapture. Few acts can match their 20 year span of No 1’s and their singles success complemented by more than 40 million album sales that include classic recordings like Plastic Letters, Parallel Lines and Eat to The Beat has ensured worldwide superstar status for this pioneering band.

Special guest will be The Lightning Seeds performing an acoustic set of their perfect pop songs like Pure, Lucky You and Change.

On Thursday, June 13, James, one of the most influential British indie bands, will take to the stage at Thetford.

Formed in Manchester in 1982, James’ anthemic indie pop hits include: Sit Down, She’s A Star, Laid, Born Of Frustration, Sometimes and Getting Away With It (All Messed Up) amongst 20 Top 40 singles in the UK. In a career spanning over 3 decades, top 10 albums like Gold Mother, Seven, Laid, Whiplash and Millionaires have contributed to over 13 million worldwide album sales. Famed for their live performances, their festival CV includes international appearances at Lollapalooza and Coachella (USA), Rock In Rio (Brazil), and Glastonbury, Hard Rock Calling and Isle of Wight closer to home.

Commenting on the date, James frontman Tim Booth said: “We’re up for this. It’s our first ever Forest Live gig and we can’t wait to get out there on stage.”

On Saturday July 13 Elvis Costello and The Imposters will play their sixth and final headline act confirmed at Thetford Forest.

Elvis Costello is considered to be one of the most important singer-songwriters to surface from the punk/New Wave era. With absorbing lyrics and memorable tunes set to his distinctive vocal, he has generated a songbook of classic material including Alison, Watching The Detectives, Pump It Up, Oliver’s Army and I Can’t Stand Up (For Falling Down) have ensured a formidable chart presence both sides of the Atlantic in a career spanning over 35 years.
