SIR - By now most people will have received their council tax bills for the coming financial year. Was anyone else as astonished as I was to see a 200 per cent year-on-year rise for the Letchworth Garden City Council?
I went on to the council's website to see what this body does and how it could justify such an increase. Unfortunately the website does not provide much information on the services provided by the council.
If I am being asked to submit £60 per year, or £5 per month, I would like to know what I am getting for my money. At the moment I have no idea and no choice but to pay up.
