May I assure your anonymous correspondent (March 9) that the little church next door to the two cottages on Queen Street has not been sold.
The estate agent's board relates to a property behind Grace Baptist Church. We are, as a church, very much alive! We are affiliated to a growing association of nearly 500 churches throughout the UK.
Of course, any church is really the people, but we are thankful for our building, which we try to look after, not only for our benefit, but for the people of Hitchin. There are many activities for all ages throughout the week. We are quite full on Sundays, but with plenty of room for more worshippers. We would therefore invite your correspondent (and any others) to come and visit us. All would find a welcome.
