I would like to make a plea on behalf the Garden House Hospice, an organisation run solely on voluntary contributions.

A year ago my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer, which then travelled to his liver, lymph glands, bones and finally his brain. As you can imagine this was traumatic for his family to watch the suffering he had to endure.

One of his Macmillan nurses suggested he go in to the hospice and I cannot praise the treatment he received too highly. Every single person there whether staff or volunteer gave so much attention to his every need that his last week on this Earth was as comfortable as it could possibly have been.

I asked that donations be made to the Hospice rather than flowers at the funeral and everyone was happy to do this. Please support this local charity, hopefully you may never need to use it but if you do you'll be in the very best hands.
