I would like to say how disappointed I am that we are to get 5,000 new homes on the outskirts of Hitchin, almost joining us to Luton and Stevenage. This will make living in Hitchin almost as bad as being stuck in Stevenage - I cannot think of anything worse than living in a concrete jungle.
There will be traffic jams at all times of the day, we will be living on top of each other. I bet the developers that build on any piece of waste land, or even in people's gardens, live in houses with lots of space and not houses in their back garden.
If we allow these greedy developers to keep getting their way and building these rabbit hutches all over the place, Hitchin will be just another Stevenage. I sometimes wonder why the council officials grant permission for them, maybe that is kept secret from us?
