Regarding the new mosquito contraption which has been recently put into use at The Oval shopping centre, I recently went to the shops at approximately 7:30pm with two of my children aged 11 and 13. I noticed a high-pitched noise which was like a dull ringing in my ears, and my children described it as exactly the same.
There was, as usual, a number of youths congregating outside the grocers shop and they did not seem bothered about the noise at all. After talking to a lady who worked in one of the shops I discovered the noise actually was the 'mosquito' device which the youths were standing right underneath. They certainly were not bothered by it and as I am 29 the fact that only under 25s are able to hear this is a load of rubbish.
I feel that this is just another excuse for the police not to have to patrol an area which they seem afraid to go to, and an absolute waste of tax payer's money that could be put to use on other deserving causes like regular patrols and on the spot penalties for those found loitering.
