SIR - In reply to the anonymous letter in your August 14 issue, we at NHDC decided to open the parking bays outside Tesco before moving the street lamps in order to give more room for parking and to get people used to them. Clearly the street lamps will be moved at a later stage, all in one operation, less cost for the tax payer
I am mystified by the writer's argument for rounded rather than square parking bays since square ones are used the world over giving, as they do, the most efficient use of space. It is not a problem to keep them clean.
