I would like to thank all the people who supported our campaign to save 172 Fairview Road. The planning application to demolish it and replace it with 14 flats has been turned down unanimously by our planning councillors. A big thank you first and foremost is due to them for showing that they do care about the character and the heritage of our town.

I would also like to thank our MP Barbara Follett, Christopher Beazley, MEP for the East of England and Member of the Culture Committee of the European Parliament and The Comet. They all contributed to the successful outcome of our campaign.

Last but certainly not least I would like to thank all friends, neighbours and residents of the Fairview Road Old Town Neighbourhood for their unequivocal support.

MRS ALIKI FIKIORI, Fairview Road, Stevenage
