SIR - I write as President of The Rotary Club of Hitchin to express our thanks to the people of the town and its surrounds for their generosity at the annual open-air carol singing in the Market Square on December 21. Nearly £1,000 was collected for charitable causes. Special thanks must go to Hitchin Town Band, the choir of St. Mary's and to the Rev. Michael Roden for leading the service and his superb solo, hope to see you all again next year.
