Car parking chaos. I recently experienced the new parking procedures in the car parks adjacent to the Gordon Craig Theatre. After spending an enjoyable evening being entertained by the tribute group Queen playing to a capacity audience in the concert hall, I had to queue, in freezing temperatures - thank goodness it was not raining - to pay and obtain my exit token.

Only one of the pay machines was working and the queue stretched back throughout the car park back to the theatre. This queue prevented car occupants who had already obtained their exit tokens from departing.

I object to having to pay for car parking at all when supporting the theatre but to have to queue for up to half an hour after a show, is adding insult to injury.

Whoever authorised this stupid pay on departure scheme should be removed from office immediately and a more responsible person, who has live entertainment at heart, should be appointed.

We are repeatedly reminded that the theatre is there for our use and enjoyment, and must be supported to continue its feasibility, but then the authorities make these stupid alterations to parking payment arrangements which would have been much better left alone.

If we must pay to park so we can support live entertainment, surely a much simpler, quicker exit scheme must be reintroduced.
