Like many people I was very pleased to hear that planning permission for the assorted housing on the derelict Paynes Park site has been rejected.

What an ideal opportunity for the council, now, to plan and develop a purpose-built building to re-house Hitchin Museum's Burymead stores and Education Service department and in the perfect position, too.

What, too easy an idea?
