As an ex Stevenage councillor, I am kept updated on development in the town by tapes sent to me by The Comet newspaper and SBC and read by the people from North Herts Blind Association which I am most grateful for.

On a recent issue of The Comet the front page was the suggested development of Bragbury House sports arena as a special area for the people of the town.

I have spent many hours at "Braggers" and would hate to see this area go for housing, I am sure this is adult recreation on the town map and I hope this remains so.

It would be most appreciated if the directors of BAe donated this beautiful house and grounds to the town for a special sports area and I am sure that it would be developed to extra special standards. What a brilliant move by Simon Speller and Grahame Bowles to push this forward.

Wishing you the best of luck with your efforts and look forward to seeing this come to fruition.
