With all due respect to your correspondent (The Comet February 23) we also live with a Labrador, Jude, aka Hoover.

We also find it disgusting when humans fail to clear up after their four legged friends. But the animals are only behaving naturally, unlike the sub-humans who discard broken bottles, fish hooks, ripped open tin cans, half eaten burgers, chicken bones, condoms, stale bread... you name it, some cretin will fling it. This presents an absolute minefield to our pets, causing them a lot of pain and grief, and for us, the vet bills!

The number of dog pooh notices and bins far, far outnumber the litter notices and bins. And the dogs cannot even read!
