As Mayor of Stevenage I would like to thank all those who took part in my Charity Concert at the Gordon Craig Theatre on Tuesday, February 7.

It was a marvellous show with over 350 entertainers taking part. Young people often get a bad press but that night the true face of our talented young people was on show and what an outstanding performance they gave. Well done!

Dignitaries from neighbouring councils together with my visitors from Shimkent, Kazakhstan, loved the show.

A special thanks to MBDA who sponsored the event, Rebecca Hughes, Keith Baldwin, Stevenage Leisure Limited, Crown Venue Catering, all those working behind the scenes, Molly Vickers and Claire Brooks Dancing School for the generous donation and to everyone who filled the Gordon Craig Theatre that night and raised thousands of pounds for my chosen charities. It is a night my wife and I will long remember.

Cllr BRIAN UNDERWOOD, Mayor
