The East Hockey League season may still have one week to go but for two Blueharts stalwarts, the end of the road has already arrived.
A 2-1 home victory for the ladies' seventh team over Luton Town saw Sam Addison and Teresa Donald hang up their sticks for the final time.
The pair have a combined playing career of 94 years but finished on a high, inspiring the youngsters to victory and Donald claiming the player of the match honour.
Francesca Woolley and Esme Parsons scored to leave the team second in the Division Seven South West table.
The men's second team capped off a fine season as they clinched the Division Two title with a 4-2 win over Bishop's Stortford.
Two goals from James Morris and one each from Euan Graham and Ben Philipson gave them an unassailable nine-point lead in the table.
The firsts extended their Premier League unbeaten run to 12 games after beating Cambridge City 5-1, Jack Floor and Graham Burr scoring twice each and Alex Krekis once.
They will finish second if they beat Stortford at home on Saturday.
The fourths will finish above the thirds in Division Three after goals from Sean Storey, Paul Graves and Paul Buckland gave them a 3-2 win against Southgate Adelaide.
The threes also won though, beating Bedford 3-0 with two goals for Harry MacDonald and one by Matt Maylin.
Ben Hammond got a brace as the fifths claimed a 2-1 win over Harpenden and Phil Britton was also at the double as the sixths won 3-1 against Royston.
Cam Hone got the other.
The sevenths were beaten 2-1 by Hertford in their final league game of the season, despite a fine finish from Dan Kench.
The Ladies thirds kept their promotion push from Division Three on course after thrashing Bedford 6-0.
A win at Welwyn Garden City on the final day will be enough, although they do have to maintain a better goal difference than Saffron Walden in third.
Jo Floor and Tamsin Wright each got two and Rachel Campbell and Meme Brown one at Bedford.
The firsts lost 2-1 to Bishop's Stortford, Isla Campbell scoring in the Premier Division game as they sit third from bottom.
Despite standout performances from Honor Bentley and Becky Graves, the fourths were beaten 2-0 by Cheshunt and in two games against WGC, the best result was a 1-1 draw for the seconds, the sixths beaten 2-1.
Five goals from Niamh Krishman though helped the fifths to a 10-2 win over Royston.
Over at Stevenage Hockey Club, the top two senior men's teams stole the headlines.
The firsts romped to a 9-2 success away to Bishop's Stortford in Division Two South West, putting them sixth in the table.
They conceded in the first five minutes but responded brilliantly to make it 5-2 at half-time.
Some great individual play by Mike Oliver got their first and he then added a second in similar circumstances.
Aiden Parker got in on the action with the third, rifling in a short corner, and although Stortford followed that up with their second, Oliver then completed his hat-trick before a superb team goal was finished off by Paul Spicer.
And the second period was more of the same.
Some great runs by Massimo Masala and Luke Wilkinson helped Parker get his second with a penalty flick before joining Oliver on a treble.
Skipper Jack Scott got the eighth and the rout was completed by Parker who got his fourth with another drag flick.
The seconds enjoyed a 4-2 win at home to Hertford in Division Four.
John Mould (two), Jonathan Swarbrick and Kieran Nowopolski got the goals as they guaranteed a third-placed finish this season and the best record in the club.
The thirds drew 0-0 at home to Hertford in Division Five and the fourths lost 3-0 away to Bishop's Stortford in Division Eight.
The ladies seconds and third teams will face off against each other on the final day to decided who finishes higher up the Division Three South West table.
The seconds hold the cards at the minute, two points ahead of their club-mates in eighth.
Both lost their penultimate games though, the seconds beaten 2-1 at Letchworth, Holly Portingale their scorer, while the threes went down 5-1 at home to Hertford.
Lucy Harvey scored the only goal for the firsts as they drew at home to Berkhamsted & Hemel Hempstead in Division Two.
Stevenage will secure third if they win their final game at Harpenden or if Berkhamsted fail to do so.
The fourths drew 1-1 with their Letchworth counterparts, Lily Hawkes pouncing on a rebound after a shot from Nicki Reynolds was saved.
Player of the match was Sarah Hoar for a brilliant game in midfield.
The fifths lost 6-0 at Hertford but still came away smiling.
