Taking Back Sunday will headline the main stage at the Forum Hertfordshire on Sunday, May 27 after topping the bill the previous night at the northern leg of the double header festival in Leeds.

This will be a Slam Dunk UK festival exclusive for the American band featuring the original line-up of Adam Lazzara, Eddie Reyes, Mark O’Connell, John Nolan and Shaun Cooper.

Also announced today (Wednesday) for Slam Dunk 2012 are Brighton metalcore band Architects, The King Blues, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids and The Audition.

Slam Dunk also plays host to the only UK shows for the Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, Set Your Goals and Make Do And Mend tour that hits Europe earlier in the month.

"Here are just 10 bands out of over 50 artists, so I’m confident the festival can again deliver a line-up of bands that everyone will agree is amazing value."

Tickets for both legs of the festival go on sale from 9am on Friday, with a prize freeze as well as a free shuttle bus service to the College Lane campus on the Hatfield site.

“We can’t wait to head over to the UK to play Slam Dunk Festival,” said Taking Back Sunday vocalist Adam Lazzara.

“It’s a bunch of great bands, some we’ve played with and others we have not, so it’s gonna be cool getting to see and meet everyone. Hope to see y’all there!”

There will be more announcements to come from the world of pop-punk, rock and punk over the coming weeks – with the next due on February 29.

Promoter Ben Ray, who started Slam Dunk in 2001 and has seen the festival grow over the years, said: “Again this year it’s been hard work, but I’m extremely happy with how the line-up is shaping up so far.

“Here are just 10 bands out of over 50 artists, so I’m confident the festival can again deliver a line-up of bands that everyone will agree is amazing value.

“I also thought it was extra important this year to demonstrate the value, so tickets have been frozen at 2011 prices.”

In the past, Slam Dunk has played host to some of the rock world’s favourite acts, including Paramore, New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, You Me At Six and many more.

It can also lay claim to propelling the careers of the likes of Young Guns, Lower Than Atlantis, The Blackout and We Are The Ocean. This year looks set to be no different.

Tickets cost £32.50 in advance, and £36 with aftershow, and are available from Friday on the 24-hour hotline on 0871 220 0260 or from www.lunatickets.co.uk and www.seetickets.com – click on links above right.
