Breakz global album release

11:19 05 April 2012

An electronica artist has pioneered an album released today (Thursday) featuring musicians from around the globe.

Dave Holmes AKA Damon Breakz who creates music at his home in Stevenage, features alongside 24 other artists from 13 different countries on the online album, Cosmic Core.

The guitarist and bassist, who also plays in Hitchin drum group Toque Tambor, said he brought the project together through New Zealand-based music forum Tom.Cosm.co.nz

“In January I posted a question ‘who wants to make an album/mixtape?’ and it has snowballed into a massive release of great tracks all for free,” Dave said. “It’s been a breeze to organise but has taken quite a bit of my time over the last couple of months. It is a story of collaboration on the internet.

“I chose the release date of April 5 so people have the long weekend to enjoy our sounds at parties or home, or wherever.”

You should be able to see Damon Breakz live soon, with Dave focussed on honing his act for gigs locally with support from some of the Toque Tombar troupe, as well as in Portugal over the summer.
