THE first act playing this year’s University of Hertfordshire Summer Ball has been confirmed.
London rapper Labrinth was announced last week for the annual students’ bash taking place at the Forum Hertfordshire complex on the College Lane campus in Hatfield on Friday, May 25.
He will be one of the support acts on the night, playing in the urban arena, with the main headliners still to be confirmed.
Real name Timothy McKenzie, the grime star from Hackney appeared on Tinie Tempah’s number one smash Pass Out.
He also appeared on Frisky, another collaboration with Tempah.
Labrinth’s first solo single, Let the Sun Shine, reached number three in the charts in 2010.
And Earthquake, this time featuring Tempah, went one place higher in the UK charts.
His new single, Last Time, is released on March 11.
Brit Award winners Florence + the Machine and Starry Eyed singer Ellie Goulding have both headlined the uni’s summer ball since the opening of the Forum entertainment venue.
