ELEVEN more bands have been added to the 2012 Sonisphere Festival line-up for Knebworth Park this summer.
Organisers of the international touring rock festival confirmed in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday) the second wave of bands coming to Knebworth in July.
Joining already confirmed headliners Kiss, Queen with Adam Lambert and Faith No More are Long Island hardcore innovators glassjaw, who will exclusively perform their landmark album Worship & Tribute in full.
Hundred Reasons were also announced for the festival and the Aldershot quintet will play their album Ideas Above Our Station in its entirety in the Bohemia tent on the Friday night.
Guitarist Larry Hibbitt said: “We are galactically excited to be playing Sonisphere Festival 2012.
“It’s been way too long and we can’t wait to get back to doing exactly what we do best. See you at the front.”
The UK leg of Sonisphere will also feature exclusive performances from South African post-grunge trio Seether, Black Stone Cherry, Dorset four-piece Electric Wizard and Norwegians Kvelertak.
Black Stone Cherry will make their Sonisphere debut on the Apollo stage on the Friday night.
The Kentucky quartet kick off a sold-out UK tour later this week.
“Now we can check off another goal on the ole BSC ‘wanna do it’ list,” said guitarist Ben Wells.
“We can’t wait to make our debut at Sonisphere 2012.”
Also joining the Sonisphere party are festival favourites Skindred, New Model Army, sludge metal pioneers Crowbar, swashbuckling Scottish pirate metallers Alestorm and Australian alt-rock four-piece The Getaway Plan.
Benji Webbe, the charismatic frontman of ragga-punk troupe Skindred, can’t wait to return to Knebworth’s Saturn stage on the Saturday.
“We’ve built this band on being a solid, tight live act and what more of a perfect platform can one ask for other than Sonisphere Festival Knebworth 2012,” he said.
“We are so thankful and honoured to be invited back once again.”
Post-punk heroes New Model Army will play a very special late night set on the Friday in Bohemia after headliners Kiss wrap up the main Apollo stage fun.
The Knebworth festival takes place from Friday, July 6 to Sunday, July 8.
